Project Overview
Set on acres overlooking the expanse of Cape Cod Bay, this shingled six-bedroom house denies its size by appearing to be a rambling cape. The second floor is cozily tucked under thirteen gables, a building challenge with a pleasing result. A pool and home theater add to the recreational possibilities available on the Cape. Articles about this project appeared in Home and Architectural Trends in 2006 and in Cape Cod & Islands Home in 2007.
Hear from the Owner
“We love the way our dream house has turned out. The building process went smoothly. The team did a terrific job.”
Hear from the Architect
“The house’s gentle arc responds to the views so that nearly every room in the house has an ocean view. The inside curve of the arcing plan creates a series of exterior spaces which capture the sun on the house’s south exposure and protects from the harsh winds coming off Cape Cod Bay during the cold months.”
Hear from the Builder
“We enjoyed building this house. It’s a great design and a beautiful spot. LDa and the owners conveyed clearly to us what they wanted, and helped us to have fun building it. It is a great house that will be enjoyed for a long time. Although the process of building the house took over a year, all parties remained committed to a constructive process with positive energy.”
